Community Produce Drive
Active Cultures, Food Forward, Food Access LA, and artist Minh Phan came together to host a Community Produce Drive at the Hollywood Farmers’ Market.
Recent cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) have made it increasingly difficult for families to afford fresh, healthy food. SNAP supports more than 42 million people nationwide, including 1.5 million in LA County, and many households continue to face reduced benefits this holiday season.
On December 7, 2025, market shoppers were invited to purchase extra produce from local farmers and drop it off at our central booth. Through this collective effort, approximately 150 lbs of fresh fruits and vegetables were collected and redistributed to households experiencing food insecurity.
For those who wished to contribute from afar, donations also supported the purchase of additional produce from local farmers for distribution alongside the collected items.
Every bag of produce and every dollar donated helped bring fresh food to families who need it most.
Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this effort!
